Britta Dietsche

Visual Artist

Swiss artist Britta Dietsche has developed her style over the last 30 years. Her passion for new media, digital art and photography comes together in her digital collages, which depict elements of today’s society. The artist lives in Switzerland with her husband and two children.

About me

I am a nomad. At least at night, when I’m working on my collages. I am driven by intimacy, wanderlust and (un)natural beauty. I cut illustrations, photographs and advertisements from magazines and combine them digitally with objects and patterns. The result is called digital collage.

I have been expressing my many ideas through collages for 30 years. I use dots and wavy lines and play with light and color to direct the viewer’s gaze. This creates an interaction between the viewer and the image that can unleash longings and dreams. Why do we look at something and how? That fascinates me.

I always work in series, whereby each work works on its own and yet interacts with the series. I often combine different time levels in the collages. Women are also a recurring motif. The collages question the portrayal of femininity in the media, especially as the women depicted are taken from magazines.

I am characterized by a thirst for adventure, melancholy and curiosity. I have no roots, I could travel at any time. What keeps me here is my husband and our two sons, with whom I live in the Zurich area.

Digigraphy (printing process)

My artworks are produced in limited editions using the high-quality Digigraphie® process.

Digigraphie® is a quality brand based on precise criteria and strict application rules. The fine art prints are certified with the Digigraphie® seal of quality. The printing technique used offers a wide color gamut and reproduces the artworks in high quality and true to the original. Digigraphie® is also used in renowned museums and by well-known artists.

The fine art prints are numbered, certified and signed.

Digigraphie® was officially launched in November 2003. However, the technology behind it has existed for some time. For years, photographers, sculptors and painters, as well as service providers in the industry (photo labs and lithography studios) have been using the technology of Epson printers to create prints. This has paved the way for a new technology: digitally created art can be printed in perfect quality, giving it a physical reality that was previously almost impossible in this form, simplicity and security.
